Trust the alternative to Sunflow Heating
With Sunflow Heating recently going into administration, many of you are searching for a reliable alternative to keep your homes warm. At Trust Electric Heating, we’re here to introduce the UK’s most awarded electric heating system: the NEOS electric radiator. Electric heaters, including our NEOS radiators are versatile, efficient, and easy to install, making them perfect for various spaces, from small offices to large industrial estates. At Trust, we’re here to help eco-conscious consumers who are seeking an efficient, sustainable, and high-performance heating solution, the NEOS is for you. Designed to provide optimal warmth while minimising energy consumption, the NEOS ensures you stay comfortable without compromising on sustainability. Let’s explore how the NEOS stacks up against the Sunflow heaters you may have been considering.
Advanced Electric Heating Technology Breakdown
Front and Back Panels
Unlike Sunflow heating systems, which have the same front and back panels and rely on the combination of convection and radiant heat, our NEOS electric radiators have a different front to back panel. Why’s this important? A normal radiator has 1-2 points of convection, but with our patented Quadvex Technology (our unique front and back panels), we’ve doubled this to four points of convection. We know this may seem confusing so let’s break these 4 points of convection down.
Point 1 - Serpentine Convection:
The patented dimpled back of the NEOS forces air to rise in snake like movement, just like it’s name suggests. This means the air travels a longer distance, staying in contact with the heating core for a longer period, resulting in warmer air.
Benefits:
-
NO heat loss to the back wall - other radiators lose up to 40% of heat to the back wall
-
PATENTED back wall technology - you won’t find this anywhere else
-
40% MORE heat pumps out into your room
Point 2&3 - Dual Convection:
Here’s where it comes to the addition of our front panel to the flutes of the radiator, this doubles the amount of flutes which doubles the amount of convection to promote quick room heat.
Benefits:
-
DOUBLED the amount of convection
-
2X the number of flutes
-
QUICKER warm up rate
Point 4 - Cool Wall Technology:
Each dimple on the back of the NEOS has a small hole, the reason for this being that it creates venturis. This venturis draws the latent cold air from the back wall into the radiator to be heated.
Benefits:
-
MORE warm air
-
MAXIMUM convection
-
WARMS your room NOT your wall
Soapstone Core
Both the NEOS and Sunflow heating systems are based off the design of a German Clay radiator. Sunflow have stuck more closely to the German design using a clay solid core in their solid state heaters, whereas at Trust we use soapstone. Why? Because soapstone retains heat better meaning the NEOS is able to deliver at least 30 minutes of heat without consuming energy, this is similar to what Sunflow heating calls their powerdown energy management system. Within the soapstone core are fully embedded heating elements, we made sure to embed these so we don’t waste time and energy heating air around the elements before heating the soapstone. This means you reduce energy wastage and your heating bills. In contrast, non-embedded elements heat air before the core, increasing the time it takes to heat your room.
Benefits:
-
HIGH HEAT RETENTION = more heat
-
NON-POROUS - no cracks or breaks like other storage cores
-
REDUCED energy consumption
Aluminium Casing
Sunflow radiators are made from mild steel with a layer of aluminium oxide, but we use pure aluminium. Why is this important? Aluminium conducts heat 290% more efficiently than mild steel. This allows our NEOS radiators to heat your space more quickly and efficiently. For those interested in the technical details, mild steel has a conductivity rate of 10.1 x 10^6 siemens/m, whereas aluminium’s rate is 36.9 x 10^6 siemens/m. This superior aluminium conductivity ensures effective energy use and consistent power input.
Benefits:
-
High conductivity = your room heats up FASTER
-
LIGHTWEIGHT - On average, the NEOS models weigh 30kg, compared to mild steel radiators which can weigh up to 120kg.
-
Aluminium is more DURABLE as it doesn’t rust, unlike mild steel which is prone to corrosion
-
100% RECYCLABLE
Innovation and Control in Electric Heating
The NEOS radiators are designed with cutting-edge technology to provide optimal heating solutions for modern homes. With advanced control features, users can easily adjust the temperature to their preference, ensuring comfort and energy efficiency. Unlike maintenance Sunflow heating systems, the NEOS electric radiators require no maintenance, making them a hassle-free choice for homeowners.
